Debriche Health Development Centre is a registered Civil Society Organisation that is deeply involved in changing poor health narratives across all primary health care areas through innovative health solutions. There is a relationship between poverty and ill health. When people are poor, they lack the resources to access basic health services even when these services are free. It is upon this backdrop that DHDC, commemorated the 2021 International Women's Day (IWD) by an intervention to women in petty trading as an effort towards supporting and empowering female traders. Also in commemoration of the International Women's Day (IWD2021), DHDC Volunteers joined the international community to send inspiring messages to celebrate and appluad women for their economic, political and cultural contribution to society via the official IWD photo cards. See below the joint state #ChooseToChallange statement from DHDC "We at DHDC celebrate all strong, industrious and innovative women of all ages. We believe that women no matter their age, class, or race deserve an equal future free from stigma, stereotypes and violence. On this day, we #ChooseToChallange the world towards an egalitarian future that reflects equitable access to all fundamental human rights for all especially women and young girls." #IWD2021 #ChooseToChallange #empowerment #Equality
